Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the show presented Superman's journey to protect mankind from evil with his incredible powers, while maintaining his alter-ego as Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter. Bud Collyer played the role of Superman, and his identity was kept secret for several years.
